Gore Dean Home & Antiques Store

I had the opportunity to pop in to Gore*Dean this morning and to meet the owner, Deborah Gore Dean, a charming and elegant woman. Gore*Dean is located in the old dye building of the Historic Mount Washington Mill in Baltimore, owned by my friend Sam. The mill is also home to Whole Foods, a wine store, a mid-century modern furniture store and some others.

Upon walking into the store, it’s clear that Deborah has a great eye, because the store was filled with pieces that fit the setting perfectly. The space is rustic, but with elegant arches, and large windows, with plenty of natural light streaming in. The mill buildings were empty for years and years and have been re-developed in the past ten or fifteen years.
In addition to table top items, furniture, linens, accessories and fabrics, they also have a carefully edited collection of books, and kitchen items, including some incredible copper pieces that I should have snapped up. They also have a small selection of Mrs. John L. Strong stationery.
Here are some more images that I shot when I was there:
If you’re in Baltimore or the Georgetown section of Washington, DC, make a point to stop by Gore*Dean and see their incredible selection.

You can play Where’s Waldo and find me in one of the images!

I will add you to my list and check in often. I could learn so much from you! You love to eat out… me too… I used to be a Dietitian but I am at least 10kg too heavy to be one now….can’t not enjoy my food. Life is too short to count calories or be hungry!
And I see you too! You kind of look like me? Do you? I swear, it looks like me in that mirror. too funny!! Black hair?
BTW, the sweater you knitted is adorable (and so is the little girl). I love to knit but didn’t do much of it this year.
Thanks for the comment 🙂
